In this session participants will learn how the University of North Florida nurse anesthesia faculty incorporated evidence-based practice as a foundational facet into their curriculum for the EBP doctoral scholarly project. In this program graduate students identified a clinical question and searched the literature for evidence to answer their clinical question. Based on this evidence they made a change in clinical practice and this process was disseminated as their doctoral scholarly project.
Learning Objectives:
Critically analyze data applicable to a nurse anesthesia practice issue by integrating knowledge from primary research literature sources within the context of nursing's philosophical framework and scientific foundation.
Develop a proposal for an evidence-based practice change based on evidence from the literature in collaboration with key stakeholders in a practice setting.
Discuss the implementation of a strategic plan to make an evidence-based practice change including strategies for dissemination of evidence to guide best practice.
