I am an Associate Professor and Clinical Education Coordinator at Duke University School of Nursing, in the Nurse Anesthesia Program, Doctor of Nursing Program. I hold a PhD in Nursing Science from the University of South Florida and a Doctorate in Nurse Anesthesia Practice from Virginia Commonwealth University. I live in Holly Spring, NC and am a QPR instructor.
My research focuses on low-threshold treatment interventions and health equity for individuals with opioid use disorder (OUD). I have published over 50 scholarly works and am actively engaged in advancing science in this critical area. Additionally, I serve on the Board of Directors for the National Board of Certification & Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists and participate on the editorial boards of several academic journals.
In recognition of my contributions to the nursing field, I am a double fellow of both the American Academy of Nursing and the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiologists. Furthermore, I have served in the Army Reserve for three decades, reaching the rank of Colonel.
